Lunia has a small input set. Four combat keys, a direction pad, and a wall of quick slots. Everything expressive in the game comes out of combining those four keys with a direction, so it is worth knowing exactly what each one does.
Combat
| Key | Input | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| A or Z | A attack | Your basic attack chain. Tapping it repeatedly runs the chain. |
| S | B attack | The heavier attack. Usually launches, knocks down, or opens the air combo. |
| X | Dash | Movement, and a cancel. This is the most important key in the game. |
| Space | Down attack | Hits enemies that are already on the ground. |
| Arrow keys | Move | Also the direction half of every directional attack. |
| Numpad 1 3 7 9 | Diagonals | The numpad is bound to eight-way movement if you prefer it. |
The interesting inputs are the combinations. Holding a direction while pressing A or B changes the attack for most characters, and pressing an attack during a dash gives a different move again. Your character's move list is under F8 in game.
Quick slots
| Key | Slot |
|---|---|
| 1 to 0 | Quick slots 1 to 10 |
| Q W E R T Y U I O P | Quick slots 11 to 20 |
| Ctrl + 1 to 0 | Quick slots 21 to 30 |
| ` | Switch quick slot page |
That is three full bars of thirty slots. Skills, potions and consumables all go in them. Put your potions somewhere your hand can reach without looking, because you will be reaching for them mid combo.

Rebinding
Everything above is the default layout and all of it is rebindable in the options screen under F10. A few keys are doubled up in the default set, for example U is both the achievement window and a quick slot depending on context, so if a key feels like it is doing the wrong thing that is usually why. Rebind it and move on.
